Been working furiously the past two years to get debt free. I have run into a problem that Im not sure how to handle. So here I am asking for advice.
Opened a credit card through GE money bank in January of 2008, to purchase some furniture. A week later I lost my job, and got behind on my payments. On December 15 2008, I went online and paid the account off in full (I thought) for 3274.19. Today April 29 I received a bill from them stating I owe 557.12 I called the monkey in the cubicle and he said that there was a problem with my address and the mail was being returned, and that the online account did not reflect the full balance. The 557.12 is the balance plus all the finance charges. Does this sound possible, and do I have any recourse to argue these charges? Thanks Im pretty annoyed right now. Snickers |

Hi,
I agree with you it is impossible you should make sure by going to the bank and if you are sure that you payed you have the right to not return the money to the bank becuse if they tell you a loan and then change it after you pay ypu have the right to sue the bank. Hire or ask a loyor. Thank You and Feel Free To Ask Questions |

Snickers, it will cost you more than the $500 to get an attorney. I'd say you should contact the lender again and get your issue escalated to a supervisor. Push the issue and ask for documentation. From my experience, as soon as a payment is processed, it is updated online. Something doesn't add up here. Let us know how it goes...
