Default Balloon Loans

We are currently in the process of buying a home. Can someone tell me if a balloon loan would be a good choice? Is it the one that offers the lowest payment besides a Interest Only Loan, which I know to run clear from. What are the interest rates like on a balloon loan?

Not sure what a balloon loan is - would this be anything like a Capital Repayment in the UK - ie, where you pay off part of the loan and interest every month?
