Default Bank suggestions!

I currently have an account with suntrust and i'm thinking about switching to a new bank but i need some suggestions. I live in Knoxville, TN the only banks we have to choose from is BofA, BB&T, First Tennessee (I've aleady had an account there), Suntrust, and Regions. Unfortunately, theres no citibank, wells fargo/wachovia, or nething like that here. I'm looking for a bank with mobile banking, a good checking account, i wud prefer no monthly fees but i can settle for a low monthly fee if it's a good checking account.

Hey I live in knoxville too. I use bank of america, for the simple fact that all of my accounts are there. I know there's a lot of hate thrown at the huge "big brother" type banks...but it's easy and convenient to have a bank that's all over the country that can house all of the different investment accounts I need,

What you can do is have your checking account and a credit card at BoA but then open up an online savings account for all other types of savings since those offer a better interest rate. But it is good to have your high transaction accounts at a bank where there is a physical location near you.

Citibank is a good choice. It is acceptable worldwide however make sure that you have informed your main bank (country) from where your citibank card is from before you use it overseas. Sometimes the overseas branch would tell you that you should have done that before using it overseas. It happens on bills payment anyhow, works like wonder on malls.

I use Bank of America and have always had great service from them. If you have direct deposit they don't charge you any checking account fees. I still use them even though I don't live in the states any more and am still very happy with them.
