Default can courts freeze your bank account

Hi for tax purposes i have deposited some money into a high interest savings account in my girlfriends name (with her consent may i add) the trouble is she has run up some personal debt that she has not paid including a loan for some £9000..... can anyone tell me if the courts can freeze her account and take my money??? i have`nt heard of this happening in the UK but if anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Not until you have a judgement against you, and in most cases, the petitoner has to file after the judgement to draft your account. If this is a debt to the gov. they don't even have to get a judgement. In most cases also, they only garnish your wages. I'm not sure what they do in UK, but I would take the money out of her name to be sure.

Bank can freez her account on the saying of court. The best option is you should withdraw your amount from her account
