Default CCJs

In the past I have had a poor credit history, including 3 CCJ's.
I am now in a very good job and have had all my CCJ's settled, over 3 years ago now. I realise that the judgements stay on my credit report for 6 years though, meaning that getting a loan is very hard. No regular banks will touch anyone with CCJ's.

After searching Moneysupermarket I have found a couple of loan companies that offer rates of approx 15%, but have not applied for any as I thought that I would seek advise first. I am not a home owner, as I live with my partner, so have no mortgage, hence an unsecured loan would be the way forward for me.

Thank you in advance of any advise.

Well, 15% isn't really that bad - especially when you think that's comparable with many credit cards.

In fact, is borrowing from a lower interest credit card even an option for you?

Preparing for a job interview in the financial services industry doesn't have to be a nerve-wracking process. When you keep a cool head and revise sample questions to give you a clearer idea of what to expect on the day.

15% is very good and as you are not a homeowner (so not a secured loan) then this rate sounds about right.. even those with good credit are looking at 9% for an unsecured loan. Your are right that lenders such as high street banks do not offer finance to people with CCJ's but if they are settled and over 3 years you stand a chance. Bad credit lenders ignore CCJ's after 2 years settled or not ...

That is an excellent rate like people have already said, considering your credit history. The only way you will know for sure is if you apply for it.

If you get declined don't apply for any more and perhaps speak to a whole market unsecured loan broker who might be able to place you more accurately with a lender.
