Re: Do you budget?
If you're interested in budgeting, responsible financial planning, and basically, being a "household CFO," I have something you might be interested in. I'm actually writing on behalf of a nonprofit credit counseling agency called the Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS) of Greater Atlanta, and I want to share some information that you might find helpful.
A recent national survey of “Household CFOs” – individuals in charge of managing family finances – revealed that two in three Household CFOs do not have any emergency savings, putting them at financial risk in the event of a crisis.
One in three American households have not prepared a will, purchased insurance of any kind or made preparations for a significant life-changing event. According to the survey, the rising cost of living (energy, gas and household expenses), retirement and emergency savings are their top concerns.
In response to survey findings and current economic conditions, CCCS is launching a national financial awareness campaign, “Household CFO,” and enhancing its CredAbilityU online education program, which offers free interactive webinars and financial management tools. At CredAbilityU, expert Household CFOs offer advice on a host of financial topics such as identity theft, home foreclosure, debt and saving for emergencies and retirement.
