Default Getting a 0 interest transfer card

I owe 15000 over 2 cards. Wife has stable income/good credit i just now started as a car salesperson, not so stable income yet, i ruined my credit over the last year. We just baught a house, all under my wife's name so her debt/income ratio sucks. Is there anything i can do to get a zero interest for 6-12 months? if i could just do that with 1 card i could probably have that 1 balance paid off in the 6 month period with our current income/budget. Then have better credit and beable to get another one to pay off the other card.

I looked into a personal loan, but again, with this debt/income ratio being so bad getting approved for anything is going to be rough..

god i wish i didn't take my credit score from a 740 to a 570.

I think a personal loan to pay of CC debt only makes sense if the interest rate will have a decent positive impact.

Basically you just transfer debt but if the interest justifies such a move...go for it. That way you have all your debt at one place and make sure to avoid getting into CC debt in the future.

The worst thing you can do is take out a loan, pay off the CC's and spend on them like you used to which will soon double your debt.

I failed to mention that our spending habbits are very much undercontrol. We haven't spent much at all over what we needed over the last 2 months. Aside from a few decorations for our first christmas, and we could cut back a little more on our grocery bill i'm sure. But we don't go out to eat like we used to, and i don't allow us to buy anything. She still wants to a little bit, but mostly christmas stuff. She's always christmas crazy and the fact that i'm not having a hard time keeping her from buying anything else for christmas proves to me that it'll be even easier after the first of the year when we get quickbooks setup and track where every dime goes.

My dad has invinsible credit. In the 800's i'm sure. Do credit card companies accept cosigners. He'd definatly cosign with me for a zero interest card. He knows how much my wife makes, and ab out what our bills are. He knows he wouldn't be at risk. If anything it would make me work harder to pay off bills more quickily, just to show him that it was a good idea in case i never need the assistance in the future.

Acually i'd probably need my wife's dad to cosign with her. As they both have good credit. My bad credit is primarily from not paying a credit card for 3 months, and being late on several utility bills. Stupid i know, but i'll never do that again. better to learn that lesson at 23 than at 32

I agree with you. It's better to make those mistakes at 23 rather then with 32.

I never had a co-signer for a CC but I guess it depends on the CC company if they allow that or not. I know that for example your dad can get a card in his name and have you as an authorized card user (that is a very dangerous option and not something that I would recommend).

I don't really want to put anyone in any serious risk. I don't even want to use the cards. I just want a way to give myself 6 months to pay off 1 card while the other card sits back not gaining interest. This zero interest card would also lower my minimum payments, allowing me to pay the other card off fast. I spoke with a few credit card companies over the phone today, and they all said only 1 person can apply per credit card.

But personal loans are a differant story. If i could get my dad to sign on a 15000 personal loan with 12% apr. Would you take that option over 2 cards at around 18.99 each?

I called a few CC companies today, can't happen.
I could however get a cosigner on a personal loan. If i could get a 15000 person loan to pay off all my CC debt, at say 11.9% apr, would you take that option over two credit cards at an average of 18.99% I'd rather just take the 0% balance transfer option but it doesn't appear that neither me nor my wife can get approved.

Would you recommend getting a personal loan w/ my dad as a cosigner. say, 15000 loan at 12.99%. that would be much better than paying 2 loans at an average a 18.99, right.

Of course, the personal loan payments will probably be a lot cheaper and with credit cards their interest is 18.99 annual but every month you're paying 1.58% of the balance to just interest, if you're only paying 2% or 2.5% payments, or even less than that, it will be a lot longer time to pay off the credit card as compared to the personal loan. The personal loan will have notes with a set period that it will be paid off in which is a big bonus.

You probably confused the banks when you asked for a cosigner on a credit card. They might respond better if you tell them you're going to apply for a credit card jointly with someone.

You can take your dad to any big bank online and apply for a joint credit card with him, put him as primary, and that should allow you to get a card that's having a special on balance transfer rates, probably 0 if he has as good credit as you say.
