I have a number of them, here is one of my favorites. I use to go this bar in FL and one of the patrons was this lady who was 56 or 57 and was usually on her last few dollars. She moved to FL because she was dating a guy after she was laid off in another state and moved in with him. She liked FL so much she dumped her ENTIRE 401k (no clue how much) to party in FL at the overpriced bars and she liked the really expensive ones. She would go to the bar, order an expensive glass of wine and nurse it for 2 hrs (a cardinal sin in my opinion) and when a 70 yr old guy would show up she would be real nice to him hoping the sucker would buy her another drink (which she gulped). One day I am at the bar and I knew she had a home in teh state she moved from, I also saw too much of her actions to know the answer to the question I was about to ask her. YES: she borrowed against the home when the property values increased in the early 2000s and owed more than what it was worth. At this point she was making 22k a yr at the only job she could find and lied on a mortgage app to lease a condo that cost 1400 a month. When asked how she will pay her rent by another patron, she replied: " I still have jewlery I can sell"
