Basically, you want to get out of debt, build a 3 months expenses emergency fund, and invest at least 10% of your income. Remaining frugal with the other 90% would be gravy.

Add no more credit on time to your life. Use a credit card like cash for your benefit, but pay it off completely every month. Then start cashing those reward checks.. Regards, Robert

Some people spend too much simply because they’re lazy. Instead of doing the necessary research, looking for deals and spending their money wisely, they pay much too much for things — and often, it isn’t even exactly what they want. I think these one thing you should know.

I learned in Rich Dad Poor Dad that financial freedom is the abillity to live off your investments and not your own labor. The advice is to use as much of your income to buy assets that will provide income. They can be Stocks, mutual funds, real estate and so on.

Too many people, buy liabilities with their income and not enough assets to provide income. Read books on personal finance and investing, they will help you understand how money works. Good luck.

P.S. Your home is a liability, not an asset. In most cases, if you use your home as your biggest so called investment, you are in trouble.

If you have a large amount of debt then to start your Journey to Financial Freedom is to set a budget and stick by it.

A budget simple is all the necessities that you need and how much they cost. From the budget you can find if you spend too much on going out or as I like to call it luxuries, if you do spend too much on luxuries then you will need to cut back.

Budgets are easy to set up but hard to stick to, just take small steps and soon enough you will have Financial Freedom!

Even if you don't have a lot of debt it is good to have a budget to help grow your wealth.

-Good Luck

Lemy,

If you want to get on the jounery to financial freedom there are a few things you can do to start.
  • Educate yourself. Read good books on the subject, go to seminars, listen to tapes, and find a mentor that will teach you. I do all four of these.
  • Put a plan together. Decide what it is you really want and then break it down into simply small and achievable goals.
I hope this helps.

I think people are jumping the gun too quick, some people have a massive debt, so financial freedom is way too difficult. Are you talking about ways to get financially free? Because I don't think saving up will get you out of a large debt of say £15-20k.. But I mean of course it depends on the kind of work you are doing, just my thoughts..

I persoanlly am trying to become financially free by starting my own business, some may say its risky, but I havnt made no investment, just work work work!

First, you must pay off your debt. You will never be financially free with a positive net worth unless you relieve yourself of all that crazy debt. Just be patient:

1. Build a small emergency fund - $500 - $1,000
2. Payoff one debt at a time (smallest to largest - forget about interest rates for now)
3. Build Your wealth.

I have a free 21-page ebook you can download from my blog that will give you great tips on how to start your path to financial freedom. Check it out!

I would also recommend that you let everyone in your family / friends circle know what you are doing! The hardest part I've had with cutting my spending is admitting it to my friends! I could not go to a restaurant or to that concert because it wasn't in my budget! It was awkward at first, but, once they realized I was serious about this it was just fine.

I think that it is very important to start eating healthy, and have some sort of a regular fitness program to contribute to your long term financial health. Being wealthy starts with being healthy, and being fit will leave you with more energy to complete your day.

Good luck on your business. It's risky if you aren't smart, if you are smart and know what you're doing, then you don't have to worry.
