It may seem strange to some people but all I have is one bank account. At the moment I see no reason for having two bank accounts. Maybe in furture I may need another one, but right now one is enough.

I know that I have already stated that I have only one bank account. Butm I was watching the news just the other day. And there was someone on there that said that you should really have two bank accounts. If someone should somehow get your bank information and use it. If you had another bank account at least you would have some money you could use.

Our family of six has eight bank accounts, and now I need to go open up a business account.....eeeks.

As of right now between the two of us, we have a checking and a savings account. And I am with you riskey that it seems to be all that we need. To have more would just make it more confusing to keep track of. But it is an interesting point that you heard about having two just in case. Maybe I'll open another one...but really, it just seems like more of a pain right now.

it's over two pages of discussions now, so was wondering if there is any distinct financial advantage of having or not having more than 1 bank account? or is ease of managing and organizing the only reason here...

I have two. One for checking an bills and the other for play money.

I have two savings account , one is for my routine expenses but the other is like a fixed deposit thing i never ever withdraw money but randomly keep on deposit some amount of money into it.

1 Cash Managment Trust account (for stock trading)


Sheesh when you write it out like that it looks bad

I just closed a savings account from a local bank that I forgot I had money in. Turns out I had $200 in there.
