Damn, I've got 7 - though 4 are for 3 different business banking accounts, 1 is for an old personal account I never use, and the other two are accidental duplicates from HSBC.

I only use one personal banking credit card, though, and every single one of my credit cards is paid off in full each month.

The only ones that really get used are my debit cards, though - we rarely charge things.

most peolpe have 3-5 credit cards in there wallet with high balnces the average credit card balance in the usa is 8000 dollars
all you really need is 2 credit cards a amex and visa or mc
ever thing else like store cards gas cards are a joke
They charge you high interest rates and try make money of you (that facts)

That's true, but like with my New York & Company card, if I use the card on Tuesdays I get an additional 10% off everything. So I use it to get that discount, then pay it in full when the bill comes and then I don't have to worry about interest.

So yes, they get the people who will carry a balance...but if you use it wisely, you win.

I carry a bank card for all my needs except a Discover for groceries and gas. I pay it off each month.

I have two. One AMEX and one CITI. I only use my credit cards and pay them off in full every month.

I have two AMEX which I paid off every month when I have a balance and a rarely used Mastercard.

I have 4 credit cards:

• Old Navy which I have never used but keep open for credit history purposes as it was my very first credit card
• Bank of America Platinum Visa which I haven't used since 2006 but keep around for backup
• AMEX Blue Cash which I used primarily for 2 years until last summer
• Chase Amazon Visa which is my primary card now as we have cut spending to the point that it would take almost a year just to reach the $6,500 threshold required before earning 5% cash back on the AMEX, which starts over every year
