There are actually three credit agencies -- Experian, Equifax and Transunion. Many states allow you to get a free copy of one or all of your credit reports once a year or something like that. You should look into the rules and contact all three agencies.

I think in the UK there may be a charge - but not much.
If you want to get an idea of your credit rating, you could always just talk to your bank and see what they would be happy lending you - that should give some idea of how well or poorly they rate you for credit. ![]() |

Yes, you can get one free credit report a year. Don't let certain advertising companies fool you - the only government approved site for a free credit report is www.annualcreditreport.com - you can reach them at 1-877-322-8228.
Other sites can get you similar information, but they will always get your credit card number first for services you probably don't need. |

That site gives you the report for free but you have to pay for the credit score, that is so silly looks like it would be on the report, and after all why should you have to pay for your own personel information.
