The best card will have no annual fee, no transaction fees, a low interest rate and a generous grace period. Typically you want a card with no annual fee and a grace period of at least 25 days.
Plan on always paying off the card as the interest and other fees will kill you in the long run. |

This is an example of what you don't want to do. Just knowing this will put you into debt very quickly.

Find a card that best suites your needs. My personal favorite is the AMEX Blue cash back. If you have no credit history, AMEX will be hard to get. Capital One is an easy card to get for people with limited or no credit history. They offer a cash back card as well just not as good and I do not care for their customer service. Generally, you will receive a small limit at first. Capital One is not very good with increasing credit limits but will allow you to establish a good credit history, then you can move on to a much better card. Use it monthly for expenses such as gas and pay it off in full every month to avoid interest. Your credit will jump and as long as you live below your means and use your credit wisely, you will be in a great place.

It really depends on your credit rating. Has your bank or building society offered you a credit card?
A credit card is basically a form of borrowing money for a shorter period of time. You can have a limit on your card, basic limit is usually £500 (UK) . You can use as much of it as you want at once, but then a minimum amount (Specified by your bank/b.society) MUST be paid back by the end of the month. It is however best to pay everything off at the end of the month to keep a clean credit score. Hope that helps |
