Default Is it possible to consolidate debt overseas?

I'm wondering if it would be possible to consolidate my HIGH student loan debt with, using a cosigner, an English bank, where the currency is worth twice our dollar. Also, if so, would it be practical to do so?

Thanks

Pounds or Euros? Are you asking because you feel the dollar will increase In value?

Pounds. But, you know, now that I think of it, I'd be paying monthly in dollars; so, short of moving to the UK - an option - just consolidating overseas doesn't seem like it would do much.

Update: One idea though is consolidating in a country where I might be charged a much lower interest rate than in th US. I'd think a less wealthy country would have lower rates, to compete for the US dollar?
