Default Land contract

I was wonder if it is a wise thing to buy on land contract. Should you go to an a lawyer to have papers drawn up. So everything will be legal.

I'm not clear what you mean. Do you mean a regular land purchase? There should already be lawyers involved in that.

I have heard of people buying houses from an individual and they move in just like they would be renting it. But the rent they pay goes towards a down payment. And then in a set amount of years they buy it.

Okay, now I'm clear. It's a special kind of mortgage that doesn't involve a bank.

No matter which end of this you're on, you want a good lawyer on your side.

Definitely encourage him to seek the assistance of a good attorney. What he pays out now in fees could save him a ton in getting hosed later on.

You need an legal help from an attorney, theres no other way around it. Unless you do some illegal actions.
