First to begin with a little introduction: I am a 27-year-old girl living in the Netherlands with my best friend. Our great interest is designer toys and there are 11 of them (that we designed ourselves) in the making in Hong Kong.

The prototypes are already made but now we need a personal loan to pay for their production. The amount concerned is 56543.98 dollars, this includes the 11 prototypes, the 11 toys themselves, packaging for all 11 (which my best friend designed himself) and shipping to the Netherlands.

We have already been after every possible way in the Netherlands, but Dutch people and institutions are scared for things like this and have rejected us.

Getting a loan, or some other form of financing or investment would be much easier if you had an order in hand. I would suggest showing the prototypes to several toy stores or department stores and take pre-order commitments. Now you have something tangible to show an investor.

Another way to approach this would be to consider selling the rights to a toy manufacturer. Your royalty might be less than if you did it all yourself, but so would your risk and time commitment. You could also negotiate a better deal if you had orders in hand.
