Default managing a hedge fund

My goal in finance is to manage and own a hedge fund after working at a firm in NYC after couple years. Im am currently 17 and a senior in high school however, i am a little misguided; i am wondering what would be more useful for managing a hedge fund working as a stock broker or an investment banker.. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated thanks
