Default Medical insurance

Do you allocate funds for medical insurance? It is a must because you can never predict your well being. A big chunk of your budget is sacrificed in case of ailment and may cause financial dislocation.

MY husband worked for the same company for over 30 years and then he retired. We were still covered by his insurance. The payment was not bad at all. We paid about two hundred and forty seven every three months. Then right before the HOlidays they raised it to five hundred dollars a month for all people who retired. That is some jump, but we have to pay it. We need insurance.

I have found my medical insurance beneficial but it is because many medical institutions honor the policy I got. My children are also enjoying the medical benefits. The payments are automatically deducted from my salary.

I live in Canada and our health care is free..but they are trying to change that! Let me tell you, there will be a nationwide revolt if this happens.

I think the cost of health insurance is far to much. If you have to get insurance on your own It cost 500 dollars or more. If you are on a fixed income this can really be rough.

Unfortunately, the cost of medical insurance will continue to increase significantly in the near future. Many in the U.S. blame doctors for this ever increasing cost, however, the continual increasing cost of doctors is directly related to the ever increasing cost of their liability insurance.

Until there is meaningful tort reform to eliminate the skyrocketing legal judgments awarded to those with relatively minor injuries, the cost of medical care will never stop growing higher.

I think there are just to many people in the US have their hand in the money jar that includes pharmaceutical companies, doctors, hospitals, government officials and the insurance companies. I do not know if the system Canada has is the solution, Canadians are getting taxed to death and their system is far from even being good. I have friends from Canada going to US for treatment. Also I hope that US government is not going to try managing health care, they cannot even manage any of the social services or the Medicare. Medicare is extremely expensive for the tax payers, inefficient and doctors don't want to deal with it.

I agree, the government does a really poor job in fiscal management and the less they manage the better for the country.

The health care system, medicare, social security and the tax system need some serious work but it seems unlikely that any fixes will come soon. The longer we wait to act the more we have to fix and the harder it will get.
