Default Mortgage problems

Well, I'm 21 and looking to buy some property. I found a place I realy like. 135 acres, riverfront, backs onto crown land, it's perfect in every regaurd.

I went to the bank to talk about getting a mortgage, they pre-aproved me for 144,000, more then enough to afford the property, but once I told them it was raw land, they would only give me half of that, and they want 20% percent down.

I can afford the monthly payments no problem, I got a good career going(army), I just dont have 20%, or the other 45,000 the bank woun't lend me.

Is there anyway the bank will budge, or are there things they can do differently. Like getting somebody like the parents to co-sign, are there options like that?
