well, I'm trying to get serious about planning for my future. so I need to learn more. a few considerations

1) Want to get better at financial mathematics. Bonds, annuities, FV and stuff, need to bone up on my math. Also, need a decent calculator

2) Need to do some debt reductions. Got a few odd ends still out there, plus a mess of student loans I've hardly made a dent in

3) Would like to buy some land and build a dream home down in Latin America someday

4) Would like to buy some rental property in latin America before too long, to provide an income to me to live off later on

Some facts about me:

1) I'm 34...employed by the state government

2) Would like to retire with 20 under my belt in the year 2028

3) Am planning on bringing my girlfriend from Colombia and marrying her in the near future
