Question Opening an account with one in overdraft.

Hello people, well i have my account in overdraft in bank of america which im currently paying it's not much it's like $150 but, recently it's when i'm staring to manage my money better. Well, they closed my savings account, leaving the checking one, I want to know if I try to open another account with other bank while i'm still paying this one will they check that? what yall think? or should i wait until i pay it all? thank you

Yes, do yourself the favor and pay off the account. You are doing more harm to yourself then just owing $150.00

They typically won't check, but that $150 will show up on your credit report if you don't pay it off.

I've had friends in similar situations, you are better paying it off, but if you are getting a $500 check and need $400 for books, and owe $150, well the math doesn't add up so you need that second account. Of course, the tendency is to forget about that $150 and get screwed later on.
