Default Overcoming inflation?

Hi,

I'm brand new here and have been thinking and reading a lot about retirement investing. I'm fairly young right now (25) and want to start thinking about retirement investing.

I just purchased a condo and have a low monthly mortgage payment for that which was my first goal. Now I should hopefully be able to put away a decent amount each month for retirement.

But still, I try out those online calculators on how much my savings will grow, and after inflation is adjusted in, there's only like 500K worth for retirement. This is assuming I am putting away between 500-750/month.

I don't quite see how people can save up so much for retirement and hit that 1 million or more mark in 'tomorrow's dollars'.

Maybe there is a missing link I'm not taking into account?

It's worth noting the markets may yet see further instability, so it may be worth considering that in your investment strategy.

It's so circumstantial it all depends one what your average anual rate of return ends up being and what you think you'll need for retirement. just looking at the way my parents are living simple is the most sure way to not stress out about it. but thats relative to what you think simple is
