I applaud everyone who takes the necessary steps to pay off credit card debt. I too eliminated about $25,000 in credit card debt over one and a half years by attacking my debt and cutting every corner I could. It can be hard to stay disciplined and not give in, but the reward is worth it.

I love reading success stories like this. It reminds me a bit of the Nike commercial - JUST DO IT!

It sounds really great to pay off all your credit cards. I am trying really hard to pay off all mine. But it seems like it is going to take forever. I will be so glad when they are all paid off.

Well thank you for your support. It really helps to know it can be done. Keep up the good work and I will try to do the same.

I believe the most effective way is to not buy anything more and save up for your monthly payments. and NEVER borrow money to pay off another debt.

we've been trying to cut our debts for a few years now, all the credit card debt is now on 0% cards and we have cut down on wasteful spending such as large mobile phone bills and expensive satellite TV packages, all the money saved goes to paying extra off the debts each month

I too am paying off my debt through the use of 0% cards. I was able to utilize a card from Citibank Diamond Preferred Card at 0% for the life of the balance. This really helped me to put my credit card balances there with my monthly payment being 1.5% of the total amount owed. I am able to save money for my Emergency Fund too.
