Believe me when I say that you are not the only one!! I honestly think that the best route for you to take would be Debt Settlement. You stated that you are already getting behind on your credit cards which is affecting your credit. I would do this:

Cut your budget to the bone, if you don't have one, do it now.
Cut any non necessities, like cable, cell phones etc.
Pay in order your necessities, such as, rent, food, electric etc.
Get a second job.
Save first a small emergency fund of about 1000.
Any extra money, pay the minimums on debts.
Any extra money from that, put toward the smallest debt and payoff.
Then move to the next.

It sounds like you may definitely be in a situation where bankruptcy is your only solution. If you're over your head, you will never pay back the debt on your own in your lifetime. Do yourself a favor in your golden years, and try to achieve some peace by getting out of debt fast.
