I have heard that interest rates abroad can be cheaper than in the uk.Does anyone know if it is possible to seek a lower rate from abroad,instead of using the uk banks etc.If so where do i start in applying

Maybe look for an international bank for starters.

Edit: I'm sorry that this came off sarcastic, because I was serious, you will need to find a bank that operates internationally to get a rate in a different country as far as I know. Perhaps Brian could provide more information since he is in the UK.

I dont think a bank outside the uk would give you a mortgage. if you did get one from an international bank, they'd still be subject to UK interest rates.

I agree, as far as I understand, even if the bank is international, it will apply the local UK rates for a UK property.
