On a scale of ten [1 being the lowest and 10 highest], how would you rate your best credit card? why?

I really do not pay any attention to my credit rating. I have no credit cards so I really never worried about it.

I currently have a Capitol One. I like it, and I've called customer service before and didn't have any problems with them. But I would be hard pressed to say that any card I ever had meritted anything higher than a six maybe. Their rates are outrageous and their benefits are just not that great.

I would not recommend Capitol One. They will not report on your credit report your actual credit limit - so instead they use your highest balance. So, if you keep about the same balance each month, it looks to creditors like you are maxing your credit card each month. It hurts your utilization (and in turn your credit score).

I recommend Discover, personally - cash back and great service.

I agree with Kelkat, even the best credit card company has ridiculous fees and is always trying to entice me to accumulate more debt, because that's more profit for them. It is what it is but it doesn't make me think highly of their service.

Well, credit cards are useful tools. You just have to know what you're getting into. I like being able to purchase and float the payment.

Well - I only have one personal credit card, and that's all I need.

I *never* use a credit card for credit, but instead for the inbuilt consumer protections, and use it for any non essential purchases (things for the home, etc - anything but groceries) - and then pay it off in full every month.

If you actually needed the credit - I would actually advise considering a budgeting plan first. But as for "best credit card" - offers and rates seem to change so much it's hard to have an outstanding post on the issue - without it becoming fast out of date.

9 of 10 for my Citibank card. I've always had great customer service, excellent fraud protections, balance transfer offers worth taking, etc.

10 out of 10 for my UWCU VISA card 9.9% interest rate is the lowest I've seen.

I only have one credit card and it is just used for emergencies. I actually haven't had to use it yet. But I would rate it a 10 because it is at 0 balance.
