Default Savings targets

What is the minimum percentage that you save in a month? Are you able to achieve your monthly savings targets?

I barely save at 1 percent and that is very sad. That is what I am aggressively working on now is to save.

oh, dwalliz, we're on the same boat. welcome aboard. lol. i am really going to do otherwise and try to save at least 1 or 2% of my income even before the year ends. this way, it would be easier for me to start the coming year with a good habit.

I do it a little differently. I have an overall saving goal that I'm working toward. The amount I save every month varies, depending on what I've made that month and it's what I can afford, rather than a percentage.

I believe having a target for savings is important. But to be truthful I am not very good at it. I have good intentions but never seem to follow threw.

I'm pushing very hard to have cash to pay off my mortgage early. My mortgage outlay is normally 33% of my income - but I'm setting aside another 33% to pay off extra on the mortgage each month.

Done it for 1 quarter now, and coming to the next quarter, I think I should be able to do it again.

The big challenge, of course, is to be able to keep it up a couple of years...

I put about 20% of our net into savings every month, but a huge chunk of that is eaten up by revolving bills like property taxes, a million different kinds of insurance, etc.

From my regular income, I do not have a fix rate allocated for savings but since December, all my extra earnings from the internet are deposited in a separate bank account. That is talking about 100% net of my extra income. It's not much but we'll see in the future. My extra earnings might become greater than my regular salary as an employee
