Scams are those for which you come to know in the end.

Anything that seems too good to be true. For example, a scheme where you pay money in and then are supposed to get more back for nothing or very little. Nothing of value is created, so how is extra money created?

Hello, if you have been scammed by someone please contact us, we are a company in Europe and we are experts on recovering lost capital.

Capital should be invested in very well regulated companies, we do not participate in private deals.

PM me so I can look at those cases.

When deciding to purchase a service or product online, it's a good idea to do a google search and review the product/service to see if any complaints from other people come up. Otherwise all the other advice posted here are all good to follow.

Cool Re: What are the Signs of a Scam?

Look for inconsistencies of any kind and drill down the details. If you can find out their email. Look at the profile.

Nothing sketchy holds up under a microscope.

I usually check who is the owner of the website. If it an offshore company I don't trust it that much. Then I think "what do they get out of it from me?" Because no one does anything for free, no matter what they tell you. And then I try to search for opinions on google about the system or whatever.

Signs of Online Scam
Wiring money: if somebody asks you to wire money, be careful. There is no way to reverse a wire transfer – once the money leaves your account, it’s gone, and you can’t ask the bank to “undo” the transfer.

Unsolicited approaches: it’s not uncommon to get an email promising vast sums of money (or even a few bucks) for little or no effort. Sometimes these messages look like they were sent to you accidentally – and you’ve somehow had the good luck to stumble into a fantastic situation.

Selling for anything besides cash: if you’re selling something that you’ve advertised online, be wary of accepting anything but cash as payment. Scammers have various ways to cheat you out of money.

Things look funny: sometimes you can find everything you need to know in an email. If you notice bad spelling and grammar, you might be dealing with an overseas phishing scam.
