Default How does this hurt my credit

I asked few credit card companies to lock in no interest for 60 months for lower payments to help with bills. One company said it is as bad as filing. My husband wants to buy a new home in year or so how much affect is this going to have on us.

Are you saying you're using a credit counselor or what? I'm not understanding your question?
