Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. For some reason I am not getting e-mail notification of replies. I do have "instant e-mail notification" set.
I do have a good and experienced lawyer but I would like to go back to my original question: Taking into consideration the monies and the Health Insurance, what would be the best way for her to go--Regular Social Security (remember she will be 63), Social Security Disability, or take a layoff status if she can get it?
One of my questions: Financially, if she was to go on "layoff status", she can collect unemployment for 6 months(?) and the cobra law for health insurance would cut the cost down to 35% of it's cost. While on layoff, does Social Security still build? Example: lets assume she is 63 and layoff status is 6 months. AT the end of 6 months and she goes on SS, is the SS pay equal to what she would get at 63 or 63-1/2?
