Default Stuck in Payday Loans! Need Help!

I am stuck in the Payday Loan cycle and don't know what to do! I have 6 payday loans out right now. I am paying so much in fees I can't even pay my regular bills anymore. I don't know how I am going to pay rent on the 1st. I have a negative balance in my checking account and my paycheck on the first won't even cover my rent.

Does anyone have any advice on how I can get out of this horrible depressing cycle?

Please Help.

Check out Dave Ramsey's website and read The Total Money Makeover.

This should give you a way to fix your problems.

Sounds like you should pick up a 2nd job also.

what is it with all these ppl trying to sell you their book or get you out of debt etc.???

anyway, can you have a garage sale or take some things to the pawn shop? You have got to get ahead of this before it gets any better. Sell something worth some money - cut way back on your spending (no eating out, etc), and look at your budget really good to see where you are spending more than is necessary. GOOD LUCK!

There are a lot of spammers on this site, but some of us recommend books, that we know can help. Some people need more than, a one time cookie cutter answer, to help them with their overall problem.

We get nothing for recommending books and anyone can check them out at the library for free.

My only suggestion is that just get rid of that loan system & start working on cash. otherwise ,God forbid you will be benkrupt in the near future.

You have 6 loans right, so first you need to cut them back. It's probably not possible to clear them all in 1 month or else you wouldn't be in this cycle.

You are going to need a plan and time. Next month, you get 4 loans and you eat basic food, stay in, spend as little as possible. The following month you get 2, then 0. While you are getting yourself straight it is imperitive you stick to your goal of getting out of these pay day loan cycles, you have already seen how bad they are.

It's a sorry state of affairs (I have been there myself) but the only way out of this is to work hard and spend as close to nothing as possible.

I hope things work out for you

The most important step now is to focus on how much money you are spending. Cutting back on spending habits can really save you a lot. Also DO NOT take out another payday loan to cover the previous ones. This is the worst thing you can do and it can get you into an even more vicious cycle.

I'm sorry about what you are going through.

Why don't you try laying out your balance sheet here. We need to know your income and your expenses first in order to help you.

Welcome to the financeforum. You will find David Bibby our super moderator and Little Rock or any one of us who have failed before and today we are doing all right because we realized we were financially illiterate and now that we seeking to live out of debt we are living a better life.

Meanwhile, stop living on loans and start living on your cash. Where do you live ? if you don't mind me asking. If you live in an expensive city you might consider relocating to a more affordable one.

Start adding up your expenses and pay off the more you can on the smallest debt and the minimum on all others.

Consider moving with a relative or friend for a while and put your finances in order. Before you get paid you should have an exit strategy. Don't let go of that cash .

A crisis is painful and yet it is an opportunity that forces you to change.

Unhappy Re: Stuck in Payday Loans! Need Help!

Ok...pay day loans are a rip off. You could easily be paying over 100% per year in interest on some of these.

I don't know the specifics about your situation (like your income, expenses, ect.), but I am not sure if you know that eiether? Anyways, the first thing you are going to have to do is worry about the basics housing, food, and transportation.

Second you need to think about solutions. Can you move in someone? Downsize your place? Get a roommate?

Third, get another JOB. Deliver pizzas, wait tables, I don't care what is...do something to make more money.

Finally, if you cannot pay these people now, then let them take you to collections. I still think you need to pay them, but you need to straighten yourself out first!
