Keep a record of what I told you and one of how you responded, then post back in ten years when you have a clue.

I'm sorry for your loss, especially at your age, but your wasting a good opportunity that he has left you. I hope you perserve what is left.

most peoples loose money in trading . so its better to invest money wisely in banks /mutual funds(where chances of loss is less) ..And you will feel bored by sitting at home all the time (trust me ) .. so better get a job and enjoy life .

Although $50K is not a lot of money for Canada or US, you still have to do something with them (make them work for you) or they will be eaten by rapidly increasing inflation.

I would suggest speaking with a few local advisors and discussing your situation. Find someone thats not going to make you a one stop customer looking for a high commission. Contact your locsal chamber of commerce for a referral if noone in your family has a relationship with a trusted advisor.

Have you looked into financial advisors or any other assistance since this post?

I would suggest continuing your education or putting this money towards some sort of savings (some of it needs to be toward a retirement fund). Putting that money into a fund now can mean great savings in the future! Good luck finding out what you want to do.
