If you don't have anything on your credit you may have to find a significant other who does to apply for joint credit or ask about a "secured credit card".
A secured credit card is basically you putting down the money upfront incase you don't make payments on your card. A bank can give you a secured credit card with a limit of $1000 if you gave them $1000 to hold onto incase you didn't pay. |

A secured credit card is a good idea, even better than a joint/co-signer card. When you have someone co-sign, they are taking some risk to their credit if you don't pay. You could ruin 2 credit histories at once.
The only thing about a secured credit card is coming up with the initial cash. Start with $500, manage things effectively and you'll do just fine. Make sure you know not only when payment is due, but exactly how the card works, when interest is charged, etc. |

Whatever you go for, look to ensure your credit card is paid off at the end of each month, so that you effectively use it like a debit card. That way you're using it for the extra consumer protections, rather than opening a line of debt you may soon struggle with.

Good suggestion Brian.
Everyone should pay their card off every month if possible so they can enter the card's grace period and not be charged interest. Most cards come with 20-25 day grace periods. |

Well you have to search some banks and find out the offers different banks are giving , like which is more safe, who takes lowest interest ....then you will be easy to figure it out which is the best for you...

before applying for cards and taking hits on your credit score (not that there might be much of one right now), see if you PRE-qualify for any cards. Many CC sites offer this option to see what kind of offers you MIGHT be able to obtain. Also a good idea is to open up an account at a credit union, then obtain a card through them. thay are typically very good to their members.
