I am a little risky but I know how to use them and plan with them. I have currently an Amex, 2 Mastercards, and 1 Visa...
I am always on the lookout for card offering 0% interest for a year. You can make a lot of money playing with those cards! For example, and you may have heard of this before, but... Lets say to sign up and get a new credit card with 0% interest for a year. You write a check to yourself for the full credit limit and put it into an investment vehicle that you know will keep going up in value... some sort of money market of CD, or you can even play and ladder CD's... anyway at the end of the year you take out the credit limit and pay off the card and you are left with PROFIT! There are many other neat tricks but this one I always thought was really cool! |

I have a personal Amex, a business Amex, and a personal Visa. Used to have a Discover way back when, but got fed up with them.
I have to admit that American Express has provided me the absolute best experiences with any type of credit card. There service is impeccable, and thank God they unloaded their financial planning unit (I own Amex stock in my play fund). As always, we don't charge anything we couldn't just write a check for anyways. Most of the time we pay it off immediately through the web. |

My credit cards are turned off/canceled accounts. I am going to take a shot gun to them and watch them go to pieces, should be fun.

We have a Citi Visa with a very large limit that we use for emergencies only (so basically it stays empty). We also have an Amazon Visa that we use to get the points and then pay in full each month. I also personally have a New York & Company card, but that gets used maybe once or twice a year when I deserve something nice.
![]() For my design business I will be getting an Amazon Business Visa here shortly so I can use my rewards on design books. As with our Amazon card, I'll put stuff on it and pay it off right away. |
