Luckily I was unemployed for a long term, so I was forced to learn to live on a budget - and not be able to access credit.

Now that I'm back working, the simple budgeting training from experience means that I'm not at all drawn to credit cards as a means of credit - simply for purchase protection, and isolating costs from the normal weekly bill.

Too many people I know have had awful problems with credit cards. MY parents especially feel into the debt trap while we were quite young, and when you're a kid and you see your mum crying on a night because of the bad debt, it doesn't draw you in so easily at all.

2c.

Unfortunately, one of my worst was just last week. I have automatic payment on my phone bill... the phone company just billed me $300 for a 23 minute call someone made using MY phone number to a *satellite* of all things... it is a terrible mess trying to have the charge removed but in the meantime, the credit company needs to be paid until the phone company credits it. UGH!

Mine is recent too. A family member took out a card with a $2000 limit in my name and maxxed it out online. They paid on it for six months and then didn't pay afterward. It is now seven months since their last payment and I just found out about it.

Wow thats pretty bad for a family member to do!
Did you involve the police for fraudelent claim!
I've never had a credit card, not because I diddnt want one just because of my bad credit in the past!
But its a good thing really as then I would be in more debt!

I wish I could remember what company, but I cancelled it immediately. They double debited my payment - I pay in full, so it was over a thousand dollars. It took A WEEK for them to give me my money back. I was like, thanks for stealing my money and investing it this week. Wonder how many people this happened to through them?

oh, that is so so so awful! i suddenly remembered my sister's present dilemma. she and her ex-boyfriend have supplementary credit cards and although it has been more than a year since their break-up, he still continues using the card to the point that the bank keeps on calling us because he used it and reached more than $1000 of credit! aaargh...

I have been using my credit card for online transaction. I was surprised to note that I got billed from transactions I never made. Such transactions caused me to reach my credit limit thus I had to bear penalties. I was not able to use my card for quite sometime because it took me time to dispute questionable transactions.

Wow..that’s amazing xmen. I heard that electronic coin will be a thing of the future..where anonymity for gaming, gambling and online transactions will be the thing of the future...There are pros and cons to everything.

So far, my worst experience with credit card is the late charging of my telephone bills. Two months of telephone bills were charged in a single month that my budget got affected because I have to pay the bills on time or else, I will pay for the interest.
